Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Inge Arvidsson made the kick off which started today's match. In the 3rd match minute, IFK Malmö was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Torbjörn Apelqvist to maneuver through the defense. Mark Nykvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mats Asmundsson having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 10th minute of the game. One of IFK Malmö:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Stockholm City:s goal. The goalkeeper, Mats Asmundsson, was totally fooled by Stockholm City's Osvald Ahlroht, who 12 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When IFK Malmö's Inge Arvidsson in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Stockholm City's goalie prevented a goal. In the 22nd minute Mark Nykvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mats Asmundsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Marcus Lindholm fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stockholm City's protests and gave Marcus Lindholm a yellow card for diving instead. In the 26th minute, Marcus Lindholm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Niklas Ödmann, 26 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sigvard Berglund in the 38th minute of play forced Stockholm City's goalkeeper Ralf Blom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stockholm City's Ralf Blom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sigvard Berglund in the 39th minute of play. Inge Arvidsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralf Blom having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Stockholm City's zone, Inge Arvidsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ralf Blom came out of the goal and Inge Arvidsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
The supporters of Stockholm City booed when IFK Malmö was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johannes Linqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 52nd minute, Mark Nykvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 54 minutes into the game, Anton Asklund was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. IFK Malmö's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stockholm City the free kick. After a rather tough play, IFK Malmö's Anton Asklund got a free kick in the 54th minute. Mark Nykvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mats Asmundsson having to interfere. Stockholm City's André Tidén suffered a sore thigh after 58 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 59 minutes, Inge Arvidsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the IFK Malmö and the Stockholm City players grew even worse after the yellow card. Inge Arvidsson kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Inge Arvidsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 67 played minutes Stockholm City got a freekick which was hit by Osvald Ahlroht. Sigvard Berglund struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Ralf Blom didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for IFK Malmö. Inge Arvidsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralf Blom having to interfere. If Sigvard Berglund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Sigvard Berglund came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the IFK Malmö fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sigvard Berglund couldn't finish the play. Inge Arvidsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Ralf Blom managed to avoid a goal in the 83rdth minute, when IFK Malmö's Sigvard Berglund fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With an all-out effort, IFK Malmö's Ralf Blom threw himself towards the right post 86 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Inge Arvidsson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 87 minutes into the match, Stockholm City's goal looked a bit too open when Inge Arvidsson came free, but Ralf Blom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sigvard Berglund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Many of IFK Malmö's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. IFK Malmö may have spent more time on the ball, but Stockholm City were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
