Arild FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Anders Hammarström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Calle Stenquist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Mattias Åhlberg fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arild FK's protests and gave Mattias Åhlberg a yellow card for diving instead. Mattias Åhlberg hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Mörtviks FC's Calle Stenquist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Mörtviks FC from getting a goal against them. Anders Hammarström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Calle Stenquist having to interfere. Gustaf Jansson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bengt-Rune Ferm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Conny Borre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Edwin Asklund put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Calle Stenquist. 23 minutes into the game, Bengt Öberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arild FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mörtviks FC the free kick. In the 23rd minute, Bengt Öberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anders Hammarström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Calle Stenquist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bengt-Rune Ferm in the 39th minute of play forced Arild FK's goalkeeper Conny Borre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Calle Stenquist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edwin Asklund to make the kick off. Bengt-Rune Ferm took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Conny Borre. Conny Borre dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Conny Borre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaf Jansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute Mörtviks FC were awarded a corner. Karl-Michael Lindgren went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Mörtviks FC's corner Karl-Michael Lindgren fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Conny Borre quite easily take care of the ball. Conny Borre made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Bengt-Rune Ferm sent off a good shot on target. Arild FK's Anders Hammarström got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 86th match minute, Mörtviks FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joachim Gustavsson to maneuver through the defense. If Bengt-Rune Ferm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Conny Borre stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gustaf Jansson's shot from short distance in the 98th minute. Arild FK's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
