After a defensive mix-up in Haparanda's zone, Gunnar Magnusson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Herman Ekegren came out of the goal and Gunnar Magnusson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 12th match minute, Haparanda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elof Asmundsson to maneuver through the defense. Herman Ekegren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gunnar Magnusson in the 22nd minute of the match. If Gunnar Magnusson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Haparanda's zone, Johannes Påk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Herman Ekegren came out of the goal and Johannes Påk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute, Haparanda's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gunnar Magnusson fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 35 minutes into the game, Gunnar Magnusson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Herman Ekegren. Gunnar Magnusson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Herman Ekegren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gunnar Magnusson in the 39th minute of play. Gunnar Magnusson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herman Ekegren having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gunnar Magnusson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gunnar Magnusson in the 57th minute of play forced Haparanda's goalkeeper Herman Ekegren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute, Knohult IF's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Börje Grelsson fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Knohult IF's zone, Börje Grelsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stig Lindgren came out of the goal and Börje Grelsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 63rd minute Johannes Påk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herman Ekegren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gunnar Magnusson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herman Ekegren having to interfere. Herman Ekegren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johannes Påk in the 70th minute of play. After having played for 73 minutes, Maximilian Sjögren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Haparanda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximilian Sjögren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Gunnar Magnusson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gunnar Magnusson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Johannes Påk struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Herman Ekegren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Knohult IF. Börje Grelsson struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Stig Lindgren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Haparanda.
