The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Haparanda's goalkeeper Herman Ekegren, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Herman Ekegren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rolf Klementsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Peter Lundin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 12thth minute tested the skills of Herman Ekegren when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Rolf Klementsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Herman Ekegren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. In the 18th minute of the game, Elof Asmundsson landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. After 18 minutes, Walter Bergman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Heby and the Haparanda players grew even worse after the yellow card. Herman Ekegren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rolf Klementsson was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rolf Klementsson in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Herman Ekegren saved Haparanda from getting behind.
