In the 18th match minute, Knohult IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tobias Sjögren to maneuver through the defense. 20 minutes into the match, Johannes Sjöberg notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Knohult IF's Stig Lindgren. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gunnar Magnusson was the one to do the kick off. Bernt Kjellman charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ulf Lundgren got free with Stig Lindgren in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leonardo Wassenius kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Alnarp IFK defense, Tobias Sjögren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Helge Söderquist. The Alnarp IFK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Helge Söderquist should have stopped the shot. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
