Kurt Kalfhage started the match with the kick off. Orvar Drake made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nils-Erik Bruse in the 4th minute. In the 5thth minute of the game Kurt Kalfhage who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hoting IFK's Robin Björklund was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Orvar Drake made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Nils-Erik Bruse sent off a good shot on target. When Andreas Hedling fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Blå IF's protests and gave Andreas Hedling a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Hoting IFK booed when Blå IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andreas Hedling didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jim Siggman's late challenge caught a Blå IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jim Siggman helped the player get up and apologised. Hoting IFK's Robin Björklund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lennart Sävström in the 24th minute of play. When Blå IF's Kurt Kalfhage in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hoting IFK's goalie prevented a goal. In the 31st minute Otto Nyström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robin Björklund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mats Lindgren's late challenge caught a Blå IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mats Lindgren helped the player get up and apologised. Mats Lindgren hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kurt Kalfhage in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Robin Björklund saved Hoting IFK from getting behind. 36 minutes into the match, Hoting IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Lennart Sävström came free, but Robin Björklund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Kurt Kalfhage came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Blå IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kurt Kalfhage couldn't finish the play. Robin Björklund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lennart Sävström in the 39th minute of the match. After having played for 40 minutes, Kurt Kalfhage managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Blå IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kurt Kalfhage was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Kurt Kalfhage's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Robin Björklund was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. Tom Lang charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tom Lang the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kurt Kalfhage in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Robin Björklund prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jonny Jonasson was the one to do the kick off. Otto Nyström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robin Björklund having to interfere. Kurt Kalfhage sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robin Björklund stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kurt Kalfhage's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Hoting IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Kurt Kalfhage came free, but Robin Björklund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonny Jonasson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orvar Drake having to interfere. Lennart Sävström struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Robin Björklund didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blå IF. In the 71st minute, Hoting IFK's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Otto Nyström fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Robin Björklund was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lennart Sävström showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 73 minute of play. Robin Björklund was out of position in the 77 minute of play, and Kurt Kalfhage capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Kurt Kalfhage really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Robin Björklund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lennart Sävström in the 80th minute of the match. Blå IF's Lennart Sävström got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 94 minutes into the match, Hoting IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Lennart Sävström came free, but Robin Björklund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 96 in the game by Kurt Kalfhage from a close distance when the talented Robin Björklund managed to make a qualified save. Hoting IFK's players were relieved. Blå IF played a much better game than Hoting IFK and deserved their victory. The Hoting IFK players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
