The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tor Åkesson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erik Johansson's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. Frank Ros took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tor Åkesson. Tor Åkesson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Leif Kullgren kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Varnhem BK's Tor Åkesson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Johansson in the 23rd minute of play. When Kaj Utfal fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Varnhem BK's protests and gave Kaj Utfal a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Varnhem BK getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Kaj Utfal hit a great ball. In the 27th minute, Erik Johansson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 29thth minute of the game Erik Johansson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Varnhem BK's Tor Åkesson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 31st match minute, Varnhem BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaj Utfal to maneuver through the defense. Patrik Nordlander made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Ludwig Lind sent off a good shot on target. After 39 played minutes Varnhem BK got a freekick which was hit by Olle Vallgren. Tor Åkesson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik Johansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. During the 41st minute of the match Kaj Utfal completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Kaj Utfal a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Varnhem BK's Kaj Utfal got a free kick in the 41st minute. When Frank Ros came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Alnarp fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Ros couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Varnhem BK's Olle Vallgren got a free kick in the 45th minute. Erik Johansson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tor Åkesson having to interfere. After the first half Alnarp were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Erik Johansson was the one to do the kick off. Patrik Nordlander didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ludwig Lind went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. In the 68th minute, Joel Vinström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Ludwig Lind came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Varnhem BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ludwig Lind couldn't finish the play. Leif Kullgren's late challenge caught a Alnarp's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leif Kullgren helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Varnhem BK getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Leif Kullgren hit a great ball. In the 76th minute of the match Peter Westerstrand shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tor Åkesson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Tor Åkesson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frank Ros in the 77th minute. Tor Åkesson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erik Johansson in the 81st minute of play. 83 minutes into the game, Erik Johansson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tor Åkesson. Erik Johansson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. In the 87th minute, Erik Johansson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tor Åkesson. The goal made the score 1-5. After a rather tough play, Varnhem BK's William Adelsköld got a free kick in the 90th minute. 92 minutes into the match, Varnhem BK's goalkeeper Tor Åkesson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frank Ros. Erik Johansson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tor Åkesson having to interfere. Alnarp's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
