Thor Blomberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gert Fransson's late challenge caught a Rödeby's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gert Fransson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th match minute, FC Stockholm was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gert Fransson to maneuver through the defense. Olov Berggren, 28 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 30 minutes into the game, Ingemar Ferm cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Patric Rönn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ted Haström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Thor Blomberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 40 played minutes Rödeby got a freekick which was hit by Markus Hedin. Patric Rönn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingemar Ferm, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The supporters of Rödeby booed when FC Stockholm was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Ek didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 47 played minutes, Rödeby's Olov Berggren shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Patric Rönn came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rödeby reached it. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valter Östman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Mats Björklund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thor Blomberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ted Haström went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Mats Björklund managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Stockholm's supporters rose to their feet, but Mats Björklund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thor Blomberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thor Blomberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ted Haström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the match, FC Stockholm's Mats Björklund sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thor Blomberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ted Haström might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thor Blomberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ted Haström ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 82nd minute, Valter Östman fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Ted Haström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Markus Hedin's late challenge caught a FC Stockholm's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wiktor Nässén hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. FC Stockholm had won after a very even match.
