Nye's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Casa Pia FC the free kick. After 40 played minutes Nye got a freekick which was hit by Sivert Josefsson. The supporters of Nye booed when Casa Pia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rune Ersman didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Philip Hedvall in the 46th minute of play forced Casa Pia FC's goalkeeper Jon Sjöberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sune Kjellman hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gösta Melberg to make the kick off. Nye's supporters crossed their fingers, but Philip Hedvall was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 88 minutes into the match, Casa Pia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Philip Hedvall came free, but Jon Sjöberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Markus Albäck made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dick Gunnarsson in the 90th minute. Philip Hedvall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
