Spectators: 7281 (Terracing: 5463, Seating: 1674, VIP seats: 144) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bengt-Arne Bergström started the match with the kick off. Patric Wiman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vidar Örtendal in the 4th minute of the match. 6 minutes into the match, FC Vatreni's goal looked a bit too open when Vidar Örtendal came free, but Patric Wiman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andreas Albom in the 7th minute of play forced FC Vatreni's goalkeeper Patric Wiman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of FC Vatreni booed when Jonsered was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niklas Kilstedt didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Jonsered's zone, Kim Jespersson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henry Bagge came out of the goal and Kim Jespersson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bengt-Arne Bergström blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Henry Bagge having to make a save. Bengt-Arne Bergström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henry Bagge having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Vidar Örtendal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Patric Wiman. FC Vatreni's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vidar Örtendal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Kim Jespersson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Vatreni's Bengt-Arne Bergström got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 45 minutes into the match, FC Vatreni's goal looked a bit too open when Vidar Örtendal came free, but Patric Wiman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vidar Örtendal was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Kim Jespersson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Vatreni fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. FC Vatreni's Patric Wiman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andreas Albom in the 57th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kim Jespersson in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Henry Bagge saved Jonsered from getting behind. Bengt-Arne Bergström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henry Bagge having to interfere. Patric Wiman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vidar Örtendal, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. With a little luck, FC Vatreni's Patric Wiman got control of the ball when Niklas Kilstedt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Patric Wiman came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Jonsered's Andreas Albom. But to his dismay, Andreas Albom quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 72nd minute Bengt-Arne Bergström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henry Bagge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Andreas Albom fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jonsered's protests and gave Andreas Albom a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Jonsered's Andreas Albom got a free kick in the 78th minute. In the 82nd minute Kim Jespersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henry Bagge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bengt-Arne Bergström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of FC Vatreni booed when Jonsered was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thor Lind didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Bengt-Arne Bergström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute, Håkan Giliusson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Bengt-Arne Bergström managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Vatreni's supporters rose to their feet, but Bengt-Arne Bergström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henry Bagge breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bengt-Arne Bergström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henry Bagge read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Bengt-Arne Bergström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Henry Bagge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chants of Jonsered echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as FC Vatreni had held the ball for most of the match.
