When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Manfred Lundhberg put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Patric Wiman. If Bengt-Arne Bergström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Quahog United's goalkeeper Dan Bergendahl, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Patric Wiman didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Quahog United's Hannes Söderman shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-2 in the ordered_time% minute. When Osvald Svartengren fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Dan Bergendahl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kim Jespersson in the 68th minute of play. In the 69th match minute, Quahog United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jimmie Hamnberg to maneuver through the defense. In the 92nd match minute, FC Vatreni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nils-Åke Rudberg to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Quahog United eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
