With a couple of smart ball manuevers Harry Johnsson in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Albert Åström saved Hammarby IF from getting behind. The IF JTK fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when IF JTK's Alvin Lindberg looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thomas Axelsson kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Martin Wahlström's late challenge caught a IF JTK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Martin Wahlström helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of IF JTK booed when Hammarby IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albert Åström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Hammarby IF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. IF JTK were winning 0-6.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harry Johnsson couldn't finish the play. If Harry Johnsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over IF JTK could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Hammarby IF throughout the match.
