Per Ekblom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mats Nyström, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Ove Bergqvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Folke Ekberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. 43 minutes into the match, Östansjö's Christopher Ros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Per Ekblom narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Östansjö's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Fredrik Frykberg 48 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-3. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mats Nyström got free with Per Ekblom in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Per Ekblom made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mats Nyström in the 93rd minute.
