When Herbert Möller fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Manchester City's protests and gave Herbert Möller a yellow card for diving instead. Christian Bryngelsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Gunnar Fristedt made a huge save. A collision led to Manchester City getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Christian Bock hit a great ball. In the 78th match minute, Mockfjärd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Albom to maneuver through the defense. Göran Mellin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Måns Tingelholm, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. After a rather tough play, Mockfjärd's Frans Wallin got a free kick in the 82nd minute. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Mockfjärd's goalkeeper Göran Mellin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 86th minute, Lars Söderlund made a precise shot to the right of Göran Mellin. Mockfjärd's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Manchester City's Måns Tingelholm got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Göran Mellin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Måns Tingelholm in the 98th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Manchester City fully deserved thier win.
