Johannes Fernström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pelle Blanck in the 13th minute of the match. A collision led to Virserum BF getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Pelle Blanck hit a great ball. 16 minutes into the game, Östen Johnsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Marabou's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Virserum BF the free kick. After 16 played minutes FC Marabou got a freekick which was hit by Östen Johnsson. After having played for 18 minutes, Pelle Blanck managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Virserum BF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pelle Blanck was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When William Pihlgren fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Marabou's protests and gave William Pihlgren a yellow card for diving instead. William Pihlgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karl-Åke Björkqvist in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcus Wallmark prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Karl-Åke Björkqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, FC Marabou's Östen Johnsson got a free kick in the 37th minute. Virserum BF's Pelle Blanck got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pelle Blanck was the one to do the kick off. Marcus Wallmark made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Åke Björkqvist in the 66th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Virserum BF's Eric Frisck got a free kick in the 69th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers William Pihlgren in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcus Wallmark saved Virserum BF from getting behind. In the 78th minute, Östen Johnsson had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eric Frisck during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 79th match minute, Virserum BF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Frisck to maneuver through the defense. Pelle Blanck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vidar Österberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 88 minutes into the match, FC Marabou's goal looked a bit too open when Pelle Blanck came free, but Johannes Fernström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, FC Marabou's Karl-Åke Björkqvist got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Marabou's goalkeeper Johannes Fernström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 96 minutes into the match, FC Marabou's goalkeeper Johannes Fernström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vidar Österberg. Virserum BF's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
