Spectators: 7178 (Terracing: 5494, Seating: 1684, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Folke Stenqvist started the match with the kick off. Folke Stenqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adam Överman having to interfere. Per Åberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars-Erik Sjö in the 8th minute of play. Alf Bergström took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Per Åberg. Valskog RK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Adam Överman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Folke Stenqvist in the 19th minute of the match. Folke Stenqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adam Överman having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Folke Stenqvist in the 28th minute of play forced Sponken FK's goalkeeper Adam Överman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Per Åberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars-Erik Sjö in the 34th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Lars-Erik Sjö ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Per Åberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 41st minute, Sponken FK's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Folke Stenqvist fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With his leg Adam Överman managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when Valskog RK's Erik Andreasson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Folke Stenqvist came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Valskog RK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Folke Stenqvist couldn't finish the play. 46 minutes into the game, Kjell Damm was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sponken FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Valskog RK the free kick. In the 46th minute, Kjell Damm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Folke Stenqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Valskog RK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sponken FK were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lars-Erik Sjö stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sponken FK's Adam Överman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Folke Stenqvist in the 56th minute of play. In the 65th minute Lars-Erik Sjö shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Per Åberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Per Åberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernt Säv in the 68th minute of play. Erik Andreasson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Folke Stenqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erik Andreasson might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adam Överman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Erik Andreasson ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Valskog RK getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Gabriel Hansson hit a great ball. Lars-Erik Sjö received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Per Åberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erik Andreasson during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Valskog RK's Erik Andreasson got a free kick in the 87th minute. If Erik Andreasson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roger Lundström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Sponken FK eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
