The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 10 minutes into the match, Persy FC's goalkeeper Thomas Kristiansson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Per-Åke Alstedt. 14 minutes into the game, Karl-Oskar Fransson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Thomas Kristiansson. Karl-Oskar Fransson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Bertil Billberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thomas Kristiansson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Karl-Oskar Fransson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Persy FC's Måns Martinsson in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gagnef BK's goalie prevented a goal. Maximilian Ekblom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Måns Martinsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute, Charlie Rudqvist made a precise shot to the right of Maximilian Ekblom. Gagnef BK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. If Charlie Rudqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maximilian Ekblom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charlie Rudqvist in the 41st minute of play. Dag Forssberg's late challenge caught a Persy FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dag Forssberg helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Gagnef BK getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Dag Forssberg hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Måns Martinsson to strike the kick off in the second half. After 60 played minutes Gagnef BK got a freekick which was hit by Dag Forssberg. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Måns Martinsson in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maximilian Ekblom prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Charlie Rudqvist took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Maximilian Ekblom. Maximilian Ekblom dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. With an all-out effort, Persy FC's Maximilian Ekblom threw himself towards the right post 75 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Måns Martinsson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Maximilian Ekblom came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Persy FC's Charlie Rudqvist. But to his dismay, Charlie Rudqvist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. After having played for 80 minutes, Charlie Rudqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Persy FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Charlie Rudqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Måns Martinsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximilian Ekblom having to interfere. Gagnef BK's Maximilian Ekblom proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Gagnef BK from getting a goal against them. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Persy FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
