Verner Grubb tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jimmy Wik scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Verner Grubb, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Rydsgård IK getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Jimmy Wik hit a great ball. Christer Sigman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 15thth minute of the game Christer Sigman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rydsgård IK's Dan Ekegren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Christer Sigman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th match minute, Rydsgård IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jimmy Wik to maneuver through the defense. Virsbo's Ludvig Hedlund got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Rydsgård IK were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Christer Sigman was the one to do the kick off. Kurt Danielsson got a throw-in 85 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Tommy Sandström. Dan Ekegren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christer Sigman in the 89th minute of play. If Christian Granström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Verner Grubb showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimmy Wik, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Rydsgård IK played a much better game than Virsbo and deserved their victory. The Virsbo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
