Spectators: 7345 (Terracing: 5511, Seating: 1689, VIP seats: 145) Munka-Ljungby FF's Claes Walmarsson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 9 minutes, Tim Strömberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Voltaren FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tim Strömberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 18 played minutes Munka-Ljungby FF got a freekick which was hit by Sakarias Strömberg. Voltaren FC's Jens-Ola Dahlqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claes Walmarsson in the 24th minute of play. Jens-Ola Dahlqvist was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Eskil Käller. Dan Lingren came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Voltaren FC's Bengt Åhman. But to his dismay, Bengt Åhman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 34th minute, Roy Ekström ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jens-Ola Dahlqvist was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Dan Lingren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bengt Åhman in the 39th minute of play. Claes Walmarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the Munka-Ljungby FF defense, Bengt Åhman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dan Lingren. The Munka-Ljungby FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dan Lingren should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Bengt Åhman made the kick off in the second half. Claes Walmarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Voltaren FC defense, Claes Walmarsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jens-Ola Dahlqvist. The Voltaren FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jens-Ola Dahlqvist should have stopped the shot. Bengt Åhman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dan Lingren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bengt Åhman, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Munka-Ljungby FF's zone, Karl-Johan Berg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dan Lingren came out of the goal and Karl-Johan Berg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dan Lingren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bengt Åhman, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Claes Walmarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jens-Ola Dahlqvist having to interfere. 77 minutes into the game, Roy Ekström cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Jens-Ola Dahlqvist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dan Lingren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bengt Åhman in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 82nd match minute, Munka-Ljungby FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eskil Dahlman to maneuver through the defense. In the 91st minute, one of Voltaren FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Voltaren FC. In the 93rd minute there was a penalty for Munka-Ljungby FF. Torbjörn Strand stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jens-Ola Dahlqvist. 4-2. If Bengt Åhman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, Munka-Ljungby FF could leave the field as winners, despite Voltaren FC having more of the ball for most of the match.
