Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ralf Gallin started the match with the kick off. Voltaren FC's Bengt Åhman got a good chance for a goal in the 2nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Magne Holmgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tim Strömberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Bengt Åhman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Tim Strömberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the match, Voltaren FC's Tim Strömberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Magne Holmgren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bengt Åhman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Magne Holmgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Magne Holmgren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bengt Åhman's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. In the 41st minute, Bengt Åhman made a precise shot to the right of Magne Holmgren. Österbybruk's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Bengt Åhman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Magne Holmgren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
Österbybruk's Magne Holmgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bengt Åhman in the 51st minute of play. Per-Arne Kristiansson hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Bo-Erik Söderström's shot from long distance in the 58th minute was not bad at all, but Österbybruk's Magne Holmgren knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bengt Åhman in the 62nd minute of play forced Österbybruk's goalkeeper Magne Holmgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute of the match Albin Ekeberg sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Magne Holmgren skillfully saved the ball. If Tim Strömberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bengt Åhman in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Magne Holmgren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bengt Åhman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Magne Holmgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bengt Åhman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Voltaren FC booed when Österbybruk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Algren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tim Strömberg who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 87thth minute tested the skills of Magne Holmgren when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Voltaren FC's Bengt Åhman got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 95 minutes into the match, Österbybruk's goalkeeper Magne Holmgren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tim Strömberg. 97 minutes had been played when some careless play by Österbybruk's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bo-Erik Söderström was slow to take the kick. During this time Voltaren FC's players had a chance to rest. When the match was over Voltaren FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Österbybruk throughout the match.
