Lye IF's Kristoffer Nordström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Lye IF from getting a goal against them. 10 minutes into the match, Lye IF's goalkeeper Kristoffer Nordström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Andy Ström. After a defensive mix-up in Lye IF's zone, Sven-Erik Holmberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kristoffer Nordström came out of the goal and Sven-Erik Holmberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Jimmy Runeberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Romelanda's supporters rose to their feet, but Jimmy Runeberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kristoffer Nordström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Romelanda's Sven-Ove Engström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eddie Västberg in the 17th minute of play. Håkan Browald recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andy Ström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Kristoffer Nordström made a huge save. With his leg Kristoffer Nordström managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Romelanda's Andy Ström fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Kristoffer Nordström made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Andy Ström sent off a good shot on target. The audience held their breath when August Henriksson in the 38th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Sven-Ove Engström's left hand side. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After a rather tough play, Lye IF's Eddie Västberg got a free kick in the 62nd minute. After having played for 64 minutes, Andy Ström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Romelanda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andy Ström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sven-Ove Engström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eddie Västberg in the 66th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the match, Lye IF's goal looked a bit too open when Andy Ström came free, but Kristoffer Nordström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sven-Ove Engström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eddie Västberg in the 69th minute. After 69 minutes, Sven-Erik Holmberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Romelanda and the Lye IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Romelanda getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Romelanda's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Håkan Browald ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Lye IF's August Henriksson getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Eddie Västberg who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 90thth minute tested the skills of Sven-Ove Engström when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Kristoffer Nordström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andy Ström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lye IF were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Romelanda to leave the ground with a draw.
