A hard shot 15 in the game by Arvin Ahlgren from a close distance when the talented Karl-Ove Fridlund managed to make a qualified save. The Ginger Kids's players were relieved. Carl Hagberg scored 1-2 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tony Hydén, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Karl-Ove Fridlund made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Arvin Ahlgren sent off a good shot on target. 32 minutes into the game, Ulrik Wennerberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Ginger Kids's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DiamondDogs the free kick. Jan-Åke Ström blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tony Hydén having to make a save. Egil Olofsson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Karl-Ove Fridlund came out and tried to block the shot, but Egil Olofsson slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 41st minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Egil Olofsson to make the kick off. Arvin Ahlgren charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arvin Ahlgren the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 51st minute, Arvin Ahlgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jan-Åke Ström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Tony Hydén tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 55 minutes, Jan-Åke Ström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Ginger Kids's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan-Åke Ström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arvin Ahlgren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karl-Ove Fridlund read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. The supporters of DiamondDogs booed when The Ginger Kids was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carl Hagberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. DiamondDogs's Arvin Ahlgren got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 83rd minute, Arvin Ahlgren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 89 minutes into the match, DiamondDogs's Arvin Ahlgren sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Karl-Ove Fridlund narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hans Vassenius hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The DiamondDogs fans cheered their team off the field, for while The Ginger Kids had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
