After a defensive mix-up in Gustavsfors IFK's zone, Frans Eklund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boris Holm came out of the goal and Frans Eklund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Frans Eklund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boris Holm having to interfere. After 24 played minutes Malmö FF got a freekick which was hit by Bernt Strömberg. Malte Berg was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 25th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 27 minutes of play, Gustavsfors IFK's Herbert Askestät made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oscar Salkvist was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Herbert Askestät had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frans Eklund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Gustavsfors IFK's Evert Forsberg got a free kick in the 39th minute. After 42 minutes of play, Gustavsfors IFK's Peder Ekeroth made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frans Eklund stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Erland Tinglöv charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erland Tinglöv the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Knut Enegren kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. In the 54th minute of the match Vilgot Siöberg sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Boris Holm skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 57 minutes, Leo Blomqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malmö FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leo Blomqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Peder Ekeroth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Oscar Salkvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oscar Salkvist made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Peder Ekeroth sent off a good shot on target. If Peder Ekeroth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Herbert Askestät sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oscar Salkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herbert Askestät, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. When Pelle Berg fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Malmö FF's protests and gave Pelle Berg a yellow card for diving instead. Pelle Berg hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Oscar Salkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herbert Askestät, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. 75 minutes into the match, Gustavsfors IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Frans Eklund came free, but Boris Holm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Erland Tinglöv was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 76 minutes had been played. The Gustavsfors IFK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Gustavsfors IFK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
