The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th match minute, Gustavsfors IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilhelm Telin to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Stocksund IK booed when Gustavsfors IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Knut Enegren didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 10 minutes, Peder Ekeroth made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Stocksund IK's Jonathan Tomasson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Stocksund IK booed when Gustavsfors IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valter Bergfeldt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Isac Nyström was slow to take the kick. During this time Stocksund IK's players had a chance to rest. Stocksund IK's Isac Nyström was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Boris Holm in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Boris Holm came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Stocksund IK's Staffan Damm. But to his dismay, Staffan Damm quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Gustavsfors IFK's zone, Staffan Damm stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boris Holm came out of the goal and Staffan Damm tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gustavsfors IFK's Boris Holm proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Gustavsfors IFK from getting a goal against them. Knut Enegren hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute Dick Mossberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boris Holm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herbert Askestät in the 46th minute of play forced Stocksund IK's goalkeeper Jonathan Tomasson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 48 minutes, Herbert Askestät managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gustavsfors IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Herbert Askestät was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Herbert Askestät to make the kick off. Gustavsfors IFK's Boris Holm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Staffan Damm in the 52nd minute of play. In the 58th minute of the match Valter Bergfeldt shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Tomasson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Dick Mossberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Gustavsfors IFK's Evert Forsberg got a free kick in the 66th minute. Boris Holm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dick Mossberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Gustavsfors IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Staffan Damm came free, but Boris Holm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Boris Holm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Staffan Damm in the 72nd minute of play. After having played for 73 minutes, Dick Mossberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stocksund IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dick Mossberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Gustavsfors IFK getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Malte Berg hit a great ball. The supporters of Gustavsfors IFK booed when Stocksund IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dick Mossberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Dick Mossberg got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Stocksund IK. Jonathan Tomasson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herbert Askestät, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. After 81 minutes of play, Stocksund IK's Staffan Damm made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Boris Holm was left in no man's land by his defense there! 86 minutes into the match, Gustavsfors IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Staffan Damm came free, but Boris Holm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Staffan Damm in the 91st minute of play forced Gustavsfors IFK's goalkeeper Boris Holm to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Boris Holm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dick Mossberg in the 92nd minute of play. Gustavsfors IFK's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
