The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Rune Bergdal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Solna IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pålsboda the free kick. In the 3rd minute, Rune Bergdal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Åke Gallin struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Gustav Smedfeldt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Solna IF. Solna IF's Robin Mårtensson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viktor Hansson in the 15th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Viktor Hansson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gustav Smedfeldt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Arne Lundström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Karl Gustavsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robin Mårtensson having to interfere. In the 25th minute Sven-Arne Lundström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustav Smedfeldt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Solna IF's Sven-Arne Lundström in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pålsboda's goalie prevented a goal. In the 28th match minute, Solna IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rune Bergdal to maneuver through the defense. Karl Gustavsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sven-Arne Lundström stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Pålsboda's zone, Sven-Arne Lundström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustav Smedfeldt came out of the goal and Sven-Arne Lundström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sven-Arne Lundström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 62nd minute Sven-Arne Lundström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustav Smedfeldt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gösta Ekberg fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pålsboda's protests and gave Gösta Ekberg a yellow card for diving instead. In the 62nd minute, Gösta Ekberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robin Mårtensson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viktor Hansson in the 73rd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joseph Askelöf during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
