Leif Sjöö sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mats Bergqvist struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Christer Fredriksson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nävlinge. In the 15th minute, Hans Asmundsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute Leif Sjöö shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christer Fredriksson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Leif Sjöö notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Portogino's Christer Fredriksson. Christer Fredriksson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mats Bergqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nävlinge's Joacim Fredriksson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jörgen Bergqvist in the 26th minute of play. Jörgen Vallmark struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Joacim Fredriksson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portogino. 35 minutes into the match, Portogino's goal looked a bit too open when Leif Sjöö came free, but Christer Fredriksson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Leif Sjöö had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mats Bergqvist to make the kick off. 56 minutes into the game, Portogino's Jörgen Vallmark nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joacim Fredriksson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Hans Asmundsson hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After 72 played minutes Portogino got a freekick which was hit by Jörgen Bergqvist. Christer Fredriksson made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Leif Sjöö sent off a good shot on target. Sebastian Håning fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joacim Fredriksson having to interfere. If Leif Sjöö had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 81 played minutes Mats Bergqvist rounded Portogino's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-2. 89 minutes into the match, Leif Sjöö had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Christer Fredriksson. Portogino's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leif Sjöö was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Mats Bergqvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Nävlinge supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Nävlinge would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
