Fredriksberg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ingvar Löfgren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC Avantasia's Bernt Kielstedt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingvar Löfgren in the 7th minute of play. Sven Lövkvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ingvar Löfgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 13 minutes into the match, FC Avantasia's goal looked a bit too open when Roger Lindmark came free, but Bernt Kielstedt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Michel Wester fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Avantasia's protests and gave Michel Wester a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, FC Avantasia's Michel Wester got a free kick in the 14th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ingvar Löfgren in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bernt Kielstedt saved FC Avantasia from getting behind. When Fredriksberg's Ingvar Löfgren in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Avantasia's goalie prevented a goal. After 17 played minutes FC Avantasia got a freekick which was hit by Otto Beck. Fredriksberg's Roger Lindmark got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Otto Beck was shown his second yellow card after 20 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Fredriksberg booed when FC Avantasia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Otto Beck didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute, Roger Lindmark got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of FC Avantasia booed when Fredriksberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurt Näver didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the game, Karl-Michael Strandberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fredriksberg's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Avantasia the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Fredriksberg fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 29th minute. Penalty! Tim Törnkvist made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Dag Wennerqvist sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 37 minutes, Ingvar Löfgren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bernt Kielstedt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roger Lindmark in the 45th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Michel Wester kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. A long shot from Karl-Michael Strandberg in the 58th minute of play was well struck, but Bernt Kielstedt made a really good save at the right post. In the 59th minute Ingvar Löfgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernt Kielstedt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Karl-Michael Strandberg was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 66 minutes had been played. When Roger Lindmark came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Fredriksberg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roger Lindmark couldn't finish the play. Kurt Näver's late challenge caught a FC Avantasia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kurt Näver helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of FC Avantasia booed when Fredriksberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurt Näver didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roger Lindmark sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 81 minutes into the match, Marko Hagberg notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of FC Avantasia's Bernt Kielstedt. Bernt Kielstedt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 86 minutes of play, FC Avantasia's Dag Wennerqvist made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tim Törnkvist was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dag Wennerqvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Many of Fredriksberg's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Fredriksberg may have spent more time on the ball, but FC Avantasia were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
