Bengt-Arne Löfkvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joachim Lindberg scored 0-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Richard Bodin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alfred Vallin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Birger Mickelsson went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joachim Lindberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Vetlanda IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Birger Mickelsson came free, but Alfred Vallin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Vetlanda IFK's Joachim Lindberg in the 53rd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Richard Bodin was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Tierp FK through an amazing save. In the 55th minute, Pål Nyman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Leif Josefsson came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Vetlanda IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leif Josefsson couldn't finish the play. Joachim Lindberg struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Richard Bodin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vetlanda IFK. In the 60th minute, Leif Josefsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bengt-Arne Löfkvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfred Vallin having to interfere. Leif Josefsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Richard Bodin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Vetlanda IFK's Joachim Lindberg slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Richard Bodin. That made the score 1-3 after 75 minutes of play. Leif Josefsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richard Bodin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leif Josefsson in the 86th minute. Alfred Vallin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bengt-Arne Löfkvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Richard Bodin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Åkerman in the 92nd minute of the match. Vetlanda IFK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Karl Östman in the 94th minute. It was a well-played corner which Valentin Hökkvist managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand.
