Bengt Haraldsson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 3rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Stefan Hellgren. Merseyside Saints's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Daniel Bengtsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Einar Julin's late challenge caught a Zia Warriors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Einar Julin helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Merseyside Saints getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Einar Julin hit a great ball. Hannes Åberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josef Ekenberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th match minute, Merseyside Saints was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henric Björk to maneuver through the defense. Stefan Hellgren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Bengtsson's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. When Merseyside Saints's Henry Hellgren in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Zia Warriors's goalie prevented a goal. Hannes Åberg came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Merseyside Saints's Henric Björk. But to his dismay, Henric Björk quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The audience was convinced that Daniel Bengtsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stefan Hellgren was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Manfred Asserlindh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zia Warriors's Stefan Koch got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Manfred Asserlindh scored 2-1 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Stefan Hellgren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

54 minutes into the match, Zia Warriors's Daniel Bengtsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stefan Hellgren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match clock showed 57 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Manfred Asserlindh sped through Merseyside Saints's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Stefan Hellgren. Josef Ekenberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hannes Åberg having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Manfred Asserlindh got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stefan Hellgren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manfred Asserlindh's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. In the 66th minute, Fritz Galle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Merseyside Saints's Stefan Hellgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfred Asserlindh in the 73rd minute of play. If Henry Hellgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 79 minutes, Alexander Biörk mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zia Warriors and the Merseyside Saints players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Zia Warriors's Alexander Biörk got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 89th minute of the match Bengt Haraldsson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Stefan Hellgren showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Manfred Asserlindh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Stefan Hellgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
