In the 6th minute, Klas Jakobsson sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Karesuando's Marcus Uter didn't even have to move. After 14 minutes, Sonny Hansson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rivierans Guldgossar BK and the Karesuando players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 13th minute, one of Rivierans Guldgossar BK:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rivierans Guldgossar BK. The referee gave Karesuando a penalty, 15 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Viktor Sundberg, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Rivierans Guldgossar BK's Yngve Wester. 1-0. Rivierans Guldgossar BK's Torbjörn Sundberg got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcus Uter came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Rivierans Guldgossar BK's Torbjörn Sundberg. But to his dismay, Torbjörn Sundberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Harald Wiberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yngve Wester made an important save on a dangerous shot by Allan Jonsson in the 29th minute. When Mikael Målare fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rivierans Guldgossar BK's protests and gave Mikael Målare a yellow card for diving instead. Allan Jonsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anders Kjellman made a kick off. Torbjörn Sundberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus Uter having to interfere. If Torbjörn Sundberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Harald Wiberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Marcus Uter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Allan Jonsson in the 64th minute of play forced Rivierans Guldgossar BK's goalkeeper Yngve Wester to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rivierans Guldgossar BK's Yngve Wester played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan Jonsson in the 66th minute of play. Torbjörn Sundberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus Uter having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Karesuando's zone, Harald Wiberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcus Uter came out of the goal and Harald Wiberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcus Uter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torbjörn Sundberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74th minute, Allan Jonsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Allan Jonsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Karesuando's supporters rose to their feet, but Allan Jonsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yngve Wester breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Rivierans Guldgossar BK's Sonny Hansson got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 88th minute, Tomas Nyqvist ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yngve Wester was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Harald Wiberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus Uter having to interfere. Harald Wiberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Marcus Uter made a huge save. Karesuando's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
