The supporters of Mellanström IK booed when Skalman FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fredrik Delin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carl Hurtig kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Skalman FF's goalkeeper Bengt-Arne Örtlund had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dan Hafström. Folke Ek might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bengt-Arne Örtlund. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Folke Ek ran back to his position shaking his head. If Dan Hafström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute Alexander Samuelsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Burman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Folke Bergström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Folke Ek in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bengt-Arne Örtlund prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Folke Ek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bengt-Arne Örtlund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kent Malmgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Folke Ek stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dan Hafström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Folke Ek managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mellanström IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Folke Ek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bengt-Arne Örtlund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Felix Burman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexander Samuelsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felix Burman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexander Samuelsson in the 79th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute, Folke Ek got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Folke Ek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
