The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Virsbo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilhelm Forsman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. David Hedström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stellan Lund, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 24 minutes into the match, Virsbo's Nils Wennerström sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that David Hedström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Stellan Lund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Nils Wennerström came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Virsbo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nils Wennerström couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

51 minutes into the match, Klimpfjäll's goal looked a bit too open when Lennart Ålberg came free, but David Hedström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th minute, Magnus Sundberg reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Stig-Ove Falck. The goal made the score 2-1. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 70 minutes into the match, Klimpfjäll's goal looked a bit too open when Stellan Lund came free, but David Hedström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Klimpfjäll booed when Virsbo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nils Wennerström didn't get a good kick on the ball. 79 minutes in the game, Magnus Sundberg fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Stig-Ove Falck having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Magnus Sundberg in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stig-Ove Falck saved Virsbo from getting behind. Nils Wennerström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Hedström having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Nils Wennerström ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. David Hedström was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1.
