Valdemar Löfgren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rudolf Axelsson's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 17 minutes into the game, when Andy Nyberg put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 17th minute of the game. One of IFK Strömsund:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Alvik FC:s goal. 22 minutes into the match, IFK Strömsund's goal looked a bit too open when Joakim Isaksson came free, but Jens-Erik Klintæus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonatan Dusett hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Pontus Kilström scored 0-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valdemar Löfgren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Stig Kolberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jens-Erik Klintæus having to interfere. The supporters of IFK Strömsund booed when Alvik FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joakim Isaksson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Alvik FC's Joakim Isaksson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jens-Erik Klintæus. That made the score 1-1 after 36 minutes of play. Alvik FC's Valdemar Löfgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pontus Kilström in the 39th minute of play. When Douglas Lindholm came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the IFK Strömsund fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Douglas Lindholm couldn't finish the play. Kalle Söderberg charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kalle Söderberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jens-Erik Klintæus had in the 46thth minute some difficulties stopping Edgar Vallander's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joakim Isaksson to make the kick off. In the 54th match minute, Alvik FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joakim Isaksson to maneuver through the defense. In the 57th minute Jonatan Dusett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdemar Löfgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led IFK Strömsund's Jan-Ove Hellgren to fire away a dangerous shot which Valdemar Löfgren despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ralf Hylander's late challenge caught a Alvik FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ralf Hylander helped the player get up and apologised. After 93 played minutes IFK Strömsund got a freekick which was hit by Ralf Hylander. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Alvik FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while IFK Strömsund had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
