The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Viktor Finnman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elliott Ek in the 8th minute. In the 10th minute Åseda IK were awarded a corner. Dag Fransson went to the cornerflag to take it. Åseda IK's Dag Fransson was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Viktor Finnman in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A hard shot 13 in the game by Elliott Ek from a close distance when the talented Viktor Finnman managed to make a qualified save. Hjälteby IK's players were relieved. Åke Mårtensson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaf Winström in the 15th minute of the match. Håkan Ivarsson hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. When Gustaf Winström came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Hjälteby IK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustaf Winström couldn't finish the play. Åseda IK's Åke Mårtensson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaf Winström in the 30th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Jens-Erik Haglund's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Viktor Finnman was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Gustaf Winström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hjälteby IK's Carl Malm got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Åke Mårtensson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaf Winström in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 53rd minute, Gustaf Winström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaf Winström in the 57th minute of play forced Åseda IK's goalkeeper Åke Mårtensson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute, Jens-Erik Haglund got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carl Malm came free with the goalkeeper in the 64th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Åke Mårtensson could save by the left post. A collision led to Åseda IK getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Harry Damm hit a great ball. Tage Ekegren kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Gustaf Winström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Carl Malm kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Åke Mårtensson. That made the score 0-2 in the 72 minute of play. In the 75th minute, Sebastian Eklund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute, Jens-Erik Haglund ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Viktor Finnman was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 84th minute, Harry Damm got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Jens-Erik Haglund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carl Malm struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Åke Mårtensson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hjälteby IK. Gustaf Winström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute Gustaf Winström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Åke Mårtensson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hjälteby IK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
