An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Ove Åkerström in the 18th minute of play forced Skoll's goalkeeper Karl-Erik Martinsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karl-Erik Martinsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gösta Skoog went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Ortens Favoriter's Mats Kristiansson got a free kick in the 29th minute. Karl-Erik Martinsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gösta Skoog in the 33rd minute of the match. If Håkan Björnsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Håkan Björnsson got free with Holger Falck in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Skoll booed when Ortens Favoriter was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fred Blomquist didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Ortens Favoriter were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pelle Trillkott stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Skoll's zone, Olle Göransson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karl-Erik Martinsson came out of the goal and Olle Göransson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pelle Trillkott might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Holger Falck. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pelle Trillkott ran back to his position shaking his head. 56 minutes into the match, Skoll's Bror Nordal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Holger Falck narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 59th minute, Håkan Björnsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Håkan Björnsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Skoll's Karl-Erik Martinsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Ove Åkerström in the 67th minute of play. After having played for 68 minutes, Olle Göransson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ortens Favoriter's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olle Göransson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Olle Göransson came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Ortens Favoriter fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olle Göransson couldn't finish the play. Karl-Erik Martinsson made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Gösta Skoog sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Ortens Favoriter defense, Pelle Trillkott kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Holger Falck. The Ortens Favoriter fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Holger Falck should have stopped the shot. Holger Falck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bror Nordal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Skoll fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ortens Favoriter had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
