Hans Mellberg charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hans Mellberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Sandviken getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Hans Mellberg hit a great ball. In the 6th match minute, Sandviken was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans Mellberg to maneuver through the defense. Erling Stephansson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leif Viklund having to interfere. Birger Galle lost his temper 13 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 15th minute there was a penalty for Sandviken. Karl Eriksson stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jan-Åke Månsson. 0-1. Jan-Åke Månsson came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Sandviken's Ivar Sörman. But to his dismay, Ivar Sörman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The supporters of Sandviken booed when Hällby Hellballers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Nyström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peder Mogren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Hällby Hellballers defense, Peder Mogren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jan-Åke Månsson. The Hällby Hellballers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jan-Åke Månsson should have stopped the shot. Gösta Kråk charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gösta Kråk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gösta Kråk scored 1-3 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leif Viklund, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Hällby Hellballers players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sandviken were winning 1-3.

54 minutes into the match, Hällby Hellballers's goalkeeper Jan-Åke Månsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ivar Sörman. If Adrian Gråberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 69 minutes, Gösta Kråk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hällby Hellballers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gösta Kråk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Erling Stephansson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leif Viklund having to make a save. In the 77th minute, Christopher Mattsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hällby Hellballers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Jan-Åke Månsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peder Mogren in the 88th minute of play. Erling Stephansson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christopher Mattsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leif Viklund having to interfere. Sandviken's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
