Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Finnerödja BK's Jonathan Albäck started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Gert Vallander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sven-Åke Pedersson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Börge Smedfeldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Mellanström's Nils-Emil Wiberg got a free kick in the 12th minute. Jonathan Albäck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christer Kiempe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Roger Åkesson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Gert Vallander left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mellanström fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jonathan Albäck in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sven-Åke Pedersson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jonathan Albäck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Sven-Åke Pedersson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Finnerödja BK booed when Mellanström was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nils-Emil Wiberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mellanström's Sven-Åke Pedersson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kent Bergdal in the 46th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gert Vallander to make the kick off. Finnerödja BK's Jonathan Albäck got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonathan Albäck who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Sven-Åke Pedersson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 58 minutes into the match, Mellanström's goal looked a bit too open when Leonard Åström came free, but Sven-Åke Pedersson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gert Vallander blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roger Åkesson having to make a save. Jonathan Albäck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Åke Pedersson having to interfere. After 69 minutes, Sigvard Morat mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Finnerödja BK and the Mellanström players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sigvard Morat hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Kent Bergdal kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. In the 72nd match minute, Finnerödja BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ludwig Käller to maneuver through the defense. Kent Bergdal took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sven-Åke Pedersson. Sven-Åke Pedersson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Mellanström's zone, Leonard Åström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sven-Åke Pedersson came out of the goal and Leonard Åström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ludwig Käller kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Gert Vallander's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roger Åkesson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. Mellanström's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Aaron Lönn in the 91st minute. Kent Bergdal hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. When Aaron Lönn came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Mellanström fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aaron Lönn couldn't finish the play. Despite being the better team, Finnerödja BK failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
