The supporters of Sheffield Wednesday FC booed when FC Hörken was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Ivarsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ragnar Hedkvist might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Karl-Magnus Magnusson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ragnar Hedkvist ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 23rd minute, FC Hörken's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nils-Emil Lingren fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Karl-Magnus Magnusson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nils-Emil Lingren showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 26 minute of play. If Nils-Emil Lingren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nils-Emil Lingren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Magnus Magnusson having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Sheffield Wednesday FC's Ludwig Andberg slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Karl-Magnus Magnusson. That made the score 2-0 after 37 minutes of play. Douglas Johansson charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Douglas Johansson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Sheffield Wednesday FC's Douglas Johansson got a free kick in the 40th minute. Kalle Olofsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maximino Morales read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Robin Ek stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Thomas Sjögren managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sheffield Wednesday FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Thomas Sjögren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karl-Magnus Magnusson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kalle Olofsson kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Nils-Emil Lingren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Karl-Magnus Magnusson was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 68th minute, Ferruccio Braccia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69th minute of the match Henry Ivarsson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Maximino Morales skillfully saved the ball. After some careless play in the FC Hörken defense, Nils-Emil Lingren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Karl-Magnus Magnusson. The FC Hörken fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Karl-Magnus Magnusson should have stopped the shot. Victor Ekström kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Karl-Magnus Magnusson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ingemar Kollberg went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Ludwig Andberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 88 minutes, Ingemar Kollberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sheffield Wednesday FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ingemar Kollberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ingemar Kollberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Karl-Magnus Magnusson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ludwig Andberg struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Karl-Magnus Magnusson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sheffield Wednesday FC. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Sheffield Wednesday FC had played much better football throughout.
