Leif Ålberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bror Linberg in the 12th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gustav Wall in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Max Boberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Max Boberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustav Wall in the 17th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Munkfors's zone, Bror Linberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leif Ålberg came out of the goal and Bror Linberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carl Holmstedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Leif Ålberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leif Ålberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bror Linberg in the 39th minute of play. Gustav Wall's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Max Boberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Gustav Wall managed to get in a good position for a shot. Munkfors's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustav Wall was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Max Boberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gustav Wall to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Linköping United's goal looked a bit too open when Fredrik Bern came free, but Max Boberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 55 played minutes, Munkfors's Leonardo Ålberg shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Max Boberg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bror Linberg got free with Leif Ålberg in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Carl Holmstedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leif Ålberg having to interfere. Linköping United's Bror Linberg got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Linköping United walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
