Per-Erik Söderman lost his temper 4 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 4th match minute, TrossoTonii was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per-Erik Söderman to maneuver through the defense. Lucas Sundin charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lucas Sundin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee gave TrossoTonii a penalty, 12 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hugon Falke, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Linköping United's Max Boberg. 0-1. After 24 played minutes Linköping United got a freekick which was hit by Jerry Ström. In the 31st minute, Richard Mårtensson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Linköping United defense, Reine Ekenberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Max Boberg. The Linköping United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Max Boberg should have stopped the shot.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Matsson to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bror Linberg in the 55th minute of play forced TrossoTonii's goalkeeper Gunnar Nord to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute, Moises Eskuin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Linköping United booed when TrossoTonii was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugon Falke didn't get a good kick on the ball.
