Spectators: 7270 (Terracing: 5454, Seating: 1672, VIP seats: 144) Konga IF's Jörgen Uggstedt started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes Reftele IF got a freekick which was hit by Kjell Påk. David Hultman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jörgen Uggstedt in the 6th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Reftele IF's Joel Dahlman got a free kick in the 7th minute. If Arne Sjödin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 12th minute, Joel Dahlman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jörgen Uggstedt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Hultman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Arne Sjödin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Konga IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Arne Sjödin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Hultman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Reftele IF's zone, Arne Sjödin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Hultman came out of the goal and Arne Sjödin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Sven-Ove Stephansson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Reftele IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Sven-Ove Stephansson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomas Wennersten breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anton Klack's late challenge caught a Reftele IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anton Klack helped the player get up and apologised. After 27 played minutes Konga IF got a freekick which was hit by Anton Klack. The long shot by Dick Sandström in the 30th minute really tested David Hultman's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. David Hultman made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Arne Sjödin sent off a good shot on target. Mårten Bergström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Wennersten having to interfere. Thomas Wennersten came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Reftele IF's Sven-Ove Stephansson. But to his dismay, Sven-Ove Stephansson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Mårten Bergström struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Thomas Wennersten didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Reftele IF. Thomas Wennersten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mårten Bergström, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sven-Ove Stephansson made a kick off. After having played for 56 minutes, Sven-Ove Stephansson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Reftele IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sven-Ove Stephansson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mårten Bergström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dick Sandström kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Thomas Wennersten was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Kalle Friberger. Thomas Wennersten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Ove Stephansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 72 minutes, Roger Nordström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Konga IF and the Reftele IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Roger Nordström hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Sven-Ove Stephansson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Ove Stephansson in the 76th minute of play forced Konga IF's goalkeeper Thomas Wennersten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute Arne Sjödin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Hultman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Konga IF's Thomas Wennersten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Ove Stephansson in the 84th minute of play. Mårten Bergström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Thomas Wennersten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mårten Bergström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Wennersten having to interfere. Mårten Bergström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Thomas Wennersten made a huge save. Arne Sjödin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
