Göran Mattsson started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Mariannelund's Thor Finnman got a free kick in the 3rd minute. A collision led to Mariannelund getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Thor Finnman hit a great ball. Per Österberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommy Strömberg in the 19th minute of play. Mattias Wållander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Göran Mattsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After 24 played minutes Mariannelund got a freekick which was hit by Thor Finnman. If Stefan Kvarnström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute Göran Mattsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattias Wållander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd minute Stefan Kvarnström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Per Österberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute, Tommy Strömberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Per Österberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. A collision led to Mariannelund getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Birger Sandberg hit a great ball. When Tommy Strömberg came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Mariannelund fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tommy Strömberg couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Strömberg in the 44th minute of play forced Salabackar United's goalkeeper Per Österberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Salabackar United players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mariannelund were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stefan Kvarnström to make the kick off. Håkan Asmundsson struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Mattias Wållander didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Salabackar United. 67 minutes into the game, Salabackar United's Håkan Asmundsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mattias Wållander made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 70th minute of the match Tomas Gernberg shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mattias Wållander showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Håkan Asmundsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thor Finnman hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. When Håkan Asmundsson came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Salabackar United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Håkan Asmundsson couldn't finish the play. Salabackar United's defense didn't have a chance, in the 76th minute, when Stefan Kvarnström scored to the left of an out of position Per Österberg, making the score, 1-2. The audience was convinced that Håkan Asmundsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mattias Wållander was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. 83 minutes into the game, Tommy Strömberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Per Österberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mariannelund's Mattias Wållander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Håkan Asmundsson in the 93rd minute of play. Per Österberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stefan Kvarnström in the 97th minute of play.
