Lugnvik IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Åke Hedberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Lugnvik IK defense, Harry Valström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alex Aleberg. The Lugnvik IK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alex Aleberg should have stopped the shot. 11 minutes into the match, FC Egalunn's goal looked a bit too open when Åke Hedberg came free, but Bengt-Arne Danielsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Simon Ståhlman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Bengt-Arne Danielsson made a huge save. Åke Hedberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengt-Arne Danielsson having to interfere. Simon Ståhlman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Simon Ståhlman struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Bengt-Arne Danielsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lugnvik IK. Alex Aleberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gösta Ekberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Simon Ståhlman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bengt-Arne Danielsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Bengt-Arne Danielsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Åke Hedberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Åke Hedberg was extremely unlucky when he, in the 36th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The audience thought a goal was coming when Simon Ståhlman got free with Bengt-Arne Danielsson in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 44 minutes into the match, FC Egalunn's Gösta Ekberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alex Aleberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gösta Ekberg in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alex Aleberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Harry Valström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Alex Aleberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alf Beneth's late challenge caught a FC Egalunn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alf Beneth helped the player get up and apologised. In the 48th match minute, Lugnvik IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alf Beneth to maneuver through the defense. After the first half FC Egalunn were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Åke Hedberg made the kick off in the second half. Bengt-Arne Danielsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simon Ståhlman in the 55th minute of the match. Olov Wennerquist kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Gösta Ekberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alex Aleberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Harry Valström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Alex Aleberg made a huge save. If Gösta Ekberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Lugnvik IK booed when FC Egalunn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olov Wennerquist didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute, Åke Hedberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bengt-Arne Danielsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 84 minutes into the game, Åke Hedberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Bengt-Arne Danielsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, FC Egalunn's Olov Wennerquist got a free kick in the 87th minute. Åke Hedberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bengt-Arne Danielsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Simon Ståhlman's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. Gösta Ekberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 98th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alex Aleberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gösta Ekberg ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lugnvik IK fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC Egalunn had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
