After a defensive mix-up in Vägga FC's zone, Eric Hammarström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jerry Rydberg came out of the goal and Eric Hammarström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Eric Hammarström sped through Vägga FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jerry Rydberg. In the 14th minute Ingemar Målare shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Birger Hernström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Vägga FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Uno Vase hit a great ball. Olof Anselius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerry Rydberg having to interfere. Christian Helström thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Jerry Rydberg, a very annoying self made goal in the 26th minute which led to 1-2. Birger Hernström made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Måns Kristiansson sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Hausse IF's Johannes Kullgren got a free kick in the 34th minute. Ingemar Målare received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Birger Hernström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ingemar Målare sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Olof Anselius could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Jerry Rydberg made a huge save. If Olof Anselius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Hammarström in the 58th minute of play forced Vägga FC's goalkeeper Jerry Rydberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Birger Hernström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Uno Vase, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Måns Kristiansson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Birger Hernström having to interfere. Timmy Wennerström blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Birger Hernström having to make a save. 77 minutes into the game, Daniel Sjöberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. When Ingemar Målare came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Vägga FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ingemar Målare couldn't finish the play. After having played for 92 minutes, Eric Hammarström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hausse IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eric Hammarström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Olof Anselius received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Jerry Rydberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
