The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stig-Ove Bröms during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 19th minute Kristoffer Bergqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tord Jansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tom Haström was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kristoffer Bergqvist was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Skarpnäck getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Stefan Alrot hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristoffer Bergqvist in the 57th minute of play forced Skarpnäck's goalkeeper Tord Jansson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When August Pettersson came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Östmark IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that August Pettersson couldn't finish the play. The Skarpnäck fans cheered their team off the field, for while Östmark IFK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
