Mighty Kites FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sonny Samuelsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Torsten Sjöberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mellanström's Torsten Sjöberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Mellanström from getting a goal against them. Ludvig Sigman might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Börje Holmgren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ludvig Sigman ran back to his position shaking his head. Olof Söderström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Olof Söderström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Torsten Sjöberg made a huge save. Eric Dalström hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Mathias Sandström hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. 35 minutes into the match, Mellanström's goalkeeper Torsten Sjöberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Reine Tinglöf. 45 minutes into the match, Sonny Samuelsson dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Torsten Sjöberg, 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Olle Eriksson to make the kick off. Torsten Sjöberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sonny Samuelsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute, Olof Söderström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Sonny Samuelsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Torsten Sjöberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olof Söderström, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Leonard Hedling charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonard Hedling the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Thanks to some nice moves Ludvig Sigman could shoot a difficult shot in the 66th minute, which Börje Holmgren however easily saved by the left post. In the 68th match minute, Mighty Kites FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonard Hedling to maneuver through the defense. Börje Holmgren made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Ludvig Sigman sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Mellanström defense, Olof Söderström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Torsten Sjöberg. The Mellanström fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Torsten Sjöberg should have stopped the shot. Torsten Sjöberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sonny Samuelsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Mighty Kites FC fans' excitement grew in the 90th match minute when Mighty Kites FC's Sonny Samuelsson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sonny Samuelsson in the 94th minute of play forced Mellanström's goalkeeper Torsten Sjöberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
