The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Per-Oskar Ahlstedt in the 4th minute of play forced Vidingsjö MOIF's goalkeeper Igor Kinic to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Igor Kinic showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Douglas Almqvist in the 5th minute of the match. Igor Kinic made an important save on a dangerous shot by Per-Oskar Ahlstedt in the 6th minute. Alex Hultman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Igor Kinic made a huge save. Vidingsjö MOIF's Igor Kinic proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Vidingsjö MOIF from getting a goal against them. Douglas Almqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Sverker Bock struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Simon Fanström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vidingsjö MOIF. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by Malmo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marcus Granqvist was slow to take the kick. During this time Vidingsjö MOIF's players had a chance to rest. After 18 played minutes Vidingsjö MOIF got a freekick which was hit by Wiktor Klucznik. Alex Hultman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Igor Kinic made a huge save. In the 22nd minute Malmo were awarded a corner. Harry Brolin went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Harry Brolin almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Vidingsjö MOIF's Igor Kinic did a great save. Igor Kinic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Hultman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Malmo's Alex Hultman managed to work through Vidingsjö MOIF's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Alex Hultman dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Folke Carlsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Simon Fanström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th minute Sverker Bock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simon Fanström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37th minute Vidingsjö MOIF were awarded a corner. Marcus Granqvist went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Marcus Granqvist almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Malmo's Simon Fanström did a great save. When Olov Klemensson fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Malmo's protests and gave Olov Klemensson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 46th match minute, Malmo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olov Klemensson to maneuver through the defense. Simon Fanström came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Vidingsjö MOIF's Sverker Bock. But to his dismay, Sverker Bock quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Folke Carlsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sverker Bock in the 54th minute of play forced Malmo's goalkeeper Simon Fanström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alex Hultman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan-Olof Kleen kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Vidingsjö MOIF made a substitution. Tomas Hedström replaced Jan-Olof Kleen. After a rather tough play, Vidingsjö MOIF's Jan-Olof Kleen got a free kick in the 70th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Vidingsjö MOIF's zone, Harry Brolin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Igor Kinic came out of the goal and Harry Brolin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomas Hedström hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After 78 played minutes Malmo got a freekick which was hit by Petter Biörkman. The supporters of Vidingsjö MOIF booed when Malmo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilbert Adelsköld didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vidingsjö MOIF made a substitution. Staffan Josefsson replaced Marcus Granqvist. After 87 played minutes Vidingsjö MOIF got a freekick which was hit by Wiktor Klucznik. In the 89th minute, Matthias Blom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 92nd match minute, Vidingsjö MOIF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Folke Carlsson to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rd minute, Petter Biörkman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 94 minutes, Folke Carlsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vidingsjö MOIF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Folke Carlsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 97 minutes, Sverker Bock mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vidingsjö MOIF and the Malmo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 97 played minutes Vidingsjö MOIF got a freekick which was hit by Sverker Bock.
