The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sverker Bock in the 6th minute of play forced Malmö FF's goalkeeper Greger Lindmark to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Igor Kinic made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oskar Nyström in the 8th minute. In the 11th minute, Wiktor Klucznik left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vidingsjö MOIF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a rather tough play, Malmö FF's Krister Jonasson got a free kick in the 13th minute. Malmö FF's Greger Lindmark played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Folke Carlsson in the 16th minute of play. After some careless play in the Malmö FF defense, Folke Carlsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Greger Lindmark. The Malmö FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Greger Lindmark should have stopped the shot. Folke Carlsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Östen Johnsson kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. 26 minutes into the game, Krister Jonasson lined in a short shot 1-2 behind a frustrated Igor Kinic. Albin Andberg hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. A collision led to Vidingsjö MOIF getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Wiktor Klucznik hit a great ball. Östen Johnsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Igor Kinic made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Vidingsjö MOIF's Folke Carlsson got a free kick in the 39th minute. Vidingsjö MOIF's Igor Kinic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Krister Jonasson in the 42nd minute of play. A collision led to Vidingsjö MOIF getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. La Bolas hit a great ball. In the 45th minute Krister Jonasson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Kinic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vidingsjö MOIF's Tomas Hedström was substituted for Jan-Olof Kleen. In the 71st match minute, Malmö FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam Olofsson to maneuver through the defense. Sverker Bock might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Greger Lindmark. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sverker Bock ran back to his position shaking his head. Igor Kinic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Östen Johnsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Albin Andberg hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Marcus Granqvist was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 80th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 82nd minute, Sverker Bock got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vidingsjö MOIF's Igor Kinic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oskar Nyström in the 85th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wiktor Klucznik during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The Vidingsjö MOIF supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Vidingsjö MOIF would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
