The supporters of Farsta FF booed when Malmo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Douglas Almqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 18 played minutes Farsta FF got a freekick which was hit by Jens Pil. Karl-Åke Caspersson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Per-Oskar Ahlstedt in the 20th minute of the match. Karl-Åke Caspersson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per-Oskar Ahlstedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Rune Rosendahl recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 36th minute Per-Oskar Ahlstedt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Åke Caspersson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Jens Pil fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Farsta FF's protests and gave Jens Pil a yellow card for diving instead. Jens Pil kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 44th minute Torsten Petersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simon Fanström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After having played for 71 minutes, Håkan Askelöf managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malmo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Håkan Askelöf was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Karl-Åke Caspersson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Per-Oskar Ahlstedt in the 77th minute of the match. In the 78th minute, Harry Brolin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 82 minutes into the game, Rune Rosendahl cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Simon Fanström was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Per-Oskar Ahlstedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Åke Caspersson having to interfere. 93 minutes into the game, Malmo's Per-Oskar Ahlstedt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Karl-Åke Caspersson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. When Douglas Almqvist fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
