Figeholm IK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marc Danielsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Lennart Holmgren kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. When Allan Västlund came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Fortuna Galaxy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Allan Västlund couldn't finish the play. Marc Danielsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Rune Vallman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Allan Västlund in the 32nd minute of play forced Figeholm IK's goalkeeper Rune Vallman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Marc Danielsson came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Fortuna Galaxy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marc Danielsson couldn't finish the play. Rune Vallman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Allan Västlund, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Figeholm IK's zone, Marc Danielsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rune Vallman came out of the goal and Marc Danielsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

In the 52nd minute, Stig-Åke Bergqvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Allan Västlund in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rune Vallman saved Figeholm IK from getting behind. 62 minutes into the match, Figeholm IK's goalkeeper Rune Vallman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marc Danielsson. Marc Danielsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Allan Västlund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fortuna Galaxy's Marc Danielsson got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 77 minutes, Allan Västlund managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After having played for 88 minutes, Allan Västlund managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fortuna Galaxy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Allan Västlund was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Fortuna Galaxy booed when Figeholm IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erik Björkkvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 92 played minutes Figeholm IK got a freekick which was hit by Lennart Holmgren. Fortuna Galaxy's Marc Danielsson got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fortuna Galaxy played a much better game than Figeholm IK and deserved their victory. The Figeholm IK players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
